Score: Guilford 2, Meredith 0

RALEIGH, N.C. – Guilford scored one goal in each half to earn a 2-0 non-conference win over Meredith in soccer action at the Meredith Athletic Field in Raleigh, N.C., on Wednesday evening. 

Ashlyn Miller drove the first goal of the game into the back of the net in the 15th minute, following a pass from Ainsley Yates. Yates scored her goal in the deep left side of the net from 35 feet out. 

The second goal came in the 56th minute off the head of Emily Parker, who drove home a pass on the left side of the goalkeeper from Ashlyn Kahre. 

Meredith closed the game with nine shots, led by Kathryn Angrave, Lucy Miller ad Grace Ensign, who tallied two shots each. Angrave and Ellie Heney each posted one shot on goal for the Avenging Angels. 

Guilford countered with 24 shots (14 shots on goal), highlighted by Emily Parker's five shots (four shots on goal. The trio of Ashlyn Miller, Ava Arias and Ashlyn Kahre each tallied two shots in the game. 

Carter Knox earned the starting nod in net for Meredith, coming through with 12 saves. Madison Motto countered with two saves for Guilford, claiming the shutout victory.
