RALEIGH, N.C. – Meredith sophomore
Kate Conoley netted a corner kick goal, her first goal of the season, in the 64th minute, as the Avenging Angels tied Randolph 1-1 in the final non-conference home game of the season.
Meredith will now head to USA South Conference preseason favorite Brevard on Friday evening.
Conoley booted her 11th career goal from the right corner as Meredith tied Randolph 1-1 with just over 26 minutes remaining.
Randolph's Holly Bermingham scored the first goal of the match in the ninth minute when she drove a shot from the right side of the field in the back of the net, following a pass from Madison Booker.
Both units attempted five shots in the opening half, with Casey Serttas attempting a team-high three for the WildCats.
Emma Jolliff came through with four shots, including two shots on goal, for the Avenging Angels.
Meredith also closed with three corner kicks in the first half, while the WildCats attempted two.
The Avenging Angels offense was responsible for eight shots in the second half, four of which were shots on goal. Meanwhile, Meredith amped up its defensive efforts and limited the WildCats to two shots after the intermission.
Jolliff closed with a team-high four shots (two shots on goal), while Conoley tallied three shots (three SOG) in the game. Serttas led all offensive performers with five shots in the clash.
Carter Knox closed the game with two saves for Meredith, while her counterpart, Rachel Fields finished with five saves for the WildCats.
