LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Meredith soccer team wrapped up its two-match in two-day stint in Lynchburg, Va., with a 3-0 setback to the University of Lynchburg on Saturday evening. 

The Hornets scored all three goals in the first half, netting their first in the first minute of action when Madelyn Boyce found the back of the net. That lead grew to 2-0 in the 15th minute after Morgan Oliver connected with Lauren Orner for the second Lynchburg score of the game. 

Oliver got in on the scoring herself in the 23rd minute as the Hornets scored their third and final goal. 

Lynchburg attempted 30 shots, including 17 shots on goal, while Meredith was held without a shot throughout the course of the game. 

Both Carter Knox and Samantha Woodfin tallied seven saves in the match for the Avenging Angels. 

Orner led the way for the Hornets' offense with 10 shots (five shots on goal), while fellow starter Oliver had five shots (four shots on goal). Both Catey Paulette and Makayla Hargrove attempted three shots over the course of the match. 

Defensively, goalkeepers Kate Shepherd and Kylie Cass logged 45 minutes in net for Lynchburg.
