RALEIGH, N.C. – Meredith College women's basketball was defeated by USA South Conference foe Brevard College, 67–44, on Saturday afternoon at Weatherspoon Gymnasium.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Brevard etablished control early, opening the game with a strong first quarter to take a 17–8 lead. The Tornados continued to build momentum in the second period, extending their advantage to 36–16 at halftime.
Meredith continued to compete on the defensive end in the third quarter, but Brevard maintained its steady offensive pace to hold a 53–25 lead entering the final period. The Avenging Angels responded with their best quarter of the game in the fourth, outscoring Brevard 19–14 and showing improved efficiency on the offensive end, though the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
KEY PERFORMANCES
Emma Roche led Meredith in scoring with 13 points off the bench, adding three rebounds and a block. Leanna Nohs and Emme Baber each finished with 10 points, providing consistent scoring throughout the contest.
On the boards, Jaymie Bevins recorded a game-high 14 rebounds to go along with six points, anchoring Meredith's interior presence. Defensively, Meredith forced several turnovers and found success attacking the paint late in the game.

Meredith finished the contest with 26 points in the paint and showed resilience with a strong fourth-quarter performance. The Angels next contest is January 20th at Methodist at 7pm.
