RALEIGH, N.C. – The Meredith College women's basketball team was defeated by William Peace University, 81–45, on Wednesday evening at the Herman Student Center in USA South Conference action.
William Peace jumped out to an early lead, outscoring Meredith 23–8 in the opening quarter. The Pacers continued to build momentum in the second and third quarters, taking a 42–18 advantage into halftime and extending the lead to 72–27 by the end of the third.
Meredith showed resilience in the fourth quarter, outscoring William Peace 18–9 over the final ten minutes. The Avenging Angels shot 50 percent from the field in the final period, closing the game with strong defensive effort and improved offensive execution.
Key Performances
Freshman Molly Zuburg led Meredith with 14 points, eight rebounds, and two steals while playing 39 minutes. Emma Roche provided a spark off the bench, finishing with nine points, two blocks, and a steal. Emme Baber added seven points, while Skyler Setzer and Jaymie Bevins each contributed four points and six rebounds.
