WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Meredith College women's basketball team picked up a hard-fought 57–54 road win over Salem College on Tuesday night at Varsity Gym in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Meredith trailed 23–20 at halftime before turning in a strong second-half performance to outscore Salem 34–31 after the break. The game featured six ties and 11 lead changes, with the Avenging Angels taking control late in the fourth quarter behind timely shooting and clutch free throws down the stretch.
Key Performances
Senior Molly Zuburg led the way with a game-high 17 points, knocking down three three-pointers and going 6-for-8 at the free-throw line. Skyler Setzer added 14 points on an efficient 5-for-9 shooting night, including a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc. Emme Baber chipped in 13 points and made several key free throws in the final minute to help seal the win. Jaymie Bevins and Jeallen Holland each provided key minutes defensively, while the Avenging Angels forced 23 Salem turnovers and converted them into 16 points.
Final Notes
Meredith closed the fourth quarter on a strong run, taking a seven-point lead with under five minutes to play before holding off a late Salem push. The Avenging Angels shot 76.2 percent from the free-throw line and 41.2 percent from three-point range in the victory.
They will take on Greensboro college at home on Thursday.
