STAUNTON, Va. – The Meredith College women's basketball team earned a key road victory Friday afternoon with a 71–66 win over Mary Baldwin University at the Physical Activity Center. The result secured Meredith's bid into the USA South Conference Tournament, as the Avenging Angels will take on Brevard College on Tuesday in the first round.

Meredith opened the game with strong offensive execution, building a 22–16 advantage after the first quarter and extending the margin to double digits late in the second. The Avenging Angels maintained control through three quarters and withstood a late push from Mary Baldwin in the final period to secure the road win.

The Angels shot 44.2 percent from the field and 80.0 percent at the free-throw line, converting key opportunities in the closing minutes to hold off the Squirrels' rally.

Skyler Setzer led the angels offense with 19 points, knocking down three three-pointers and adding four assists. Emme Baber followed with 16 points, going 10-for-12 from the free-throw line, while Molly Zuburg recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Leanna Nohs and Jaymie Bevins each chipped in eight points, with Bevins also contributing eight rebounds and two blocks.
