Meredith Falls on the Road to Randolph Macon

ASHLAND, Va. — The Meredith College lacrosse team dropped a nonconference road contest to Randolph-Macon College, 15–4, Saturday afternoon at Day Field.

Randolph-Macon jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout the contest, scoring three goals in the opening quarter and adding three more in the second to take a 6–2 advantage into halftime. Meredith continued to battle in the second half, but the Yellow Jackets pulled away with a six-goal fourth quarter to secure the victory.


Game Highlights

Meredith got on the board midway through the first quarter when Reese Walker scored to cut the deficit to 2–1. Randolph-Macon responded with another goal before the end of the period to lead 3–1 after the first.

In the second quarter, the Yellow Jackets extended their lead with three more scores before Bailey Swails found the back of the net off an assist from Walker to make it 5–2. Randolph-Macon added another late goal to carry a 6–2 lead into halftime.

Randolph-Macon continued its offensive push in the third period, scoring three times before Swails converted a free-position opportunity late in the quarter to make it 9–3 heading into the final frame.

Swails added her third goal of the day early in the fourth quarter for Meredith's final tally, but Randolph-Macon closed the game with six goals in the period to seal the 15–4 result.
