Newport News, Va. - The Meredith soccer team traveled to Newport News on Saturday.  The Angels lost to Christopher Newport after giving up three second half goals after staying tied for the first 47 minutes of the game and winning the game 3-0.

The Avenging Angels (9-4, 3-2 USA South) and Captains (9-4-1, 5-0) remained scoreless through the first half and took the game into halftime tied at zero.  Christopher Newport broke through with the eventual game winner within the first two mnutes of the second half off of a corner kick play.  The Captains would add two more insurance goals at the 58 and 87 minute marks to seal the game.

Meredith next returns to action on Sunday as they travel to Rocky Mount to face N.C. Wesleyan.
