FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Meredith soccer has earned the No. 6 seed for the upcoming USA South Tournament, set to begin with the first round this Saturday, October 31.
The Avenging Angels will have a rematch from this past weekend, taking on No. 3 seed Greensboro at 1 p.m. on the road.
On October 24, the two teams met in Raleigh, with the Pride winning by a narrow 1-0 margin thanks to a second half goal.
Meredith bounced back, however, closing the regular season in style on Wednesday with a 2-0 win at N.C. Wesleyan. The victory vaulted the Avenging Angels ahead of the Battling Bishops and into sixth place in the conference standings.
The tournament consists of the top-eight teams in the Conference and is set to begin on Saturday, October 31. All tournament matches will be hosted by the higher-seeded team in the particular contest.
Seeding for the tournament is determined by a point system. Each Conference win is equal to three points while each Conference tie is equal to one point.
