Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith soccer team defeated Methodist on Senior Day.  The Avenging Angels shut down and ousted the Monarchs 4-0.

Senior Alex Calvert took advantage of the first golden opportunity from the Monarchs at the 10 minute mark.  Calvert knocked in a penality kick against the Methodist goalie.  The Avenging Angels took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Meredith (11-4, 5-2 USA South) then put the hammer down on the Monarchs (9-5-1, 2-3-1) with three second half goals.  Calvert scored her second goal of the day at the 51 minute mark. Meredith struck again quickly in the same minute with a goal from Danielle Lee assisted by Calvert.  Carrie Talbert put the game away for good with the Angels third goal at the 76 minute mark.

Meredith continues it's homestand as they host Greensboro at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
