Box Score

Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith soccer team cemented their important USA South conference home stand as the Avenging Angels took the Pride 2-1.

Alex Calvert kept ahead of the Pride putting in both of Meredith's goals in the win.  Calvert scored on a assist from Carrie Talbert at the 30 minute mark.  The Avenging Angels (12-4, 6-2 USA South) kept the pressure on Greensboro (10-5-1, 4-3-1) as Calvert scored again two minutes later.  Meredith took the 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Avenging Angels continued to hold the 2-0 lead until Greensboro scored on a breakaway by Jessica Jameson.  Meredith's tough defense continued to hold Greensboro and took the 2-1 victory.

Meredith outshot Greensboro 17-10 and Kelsey Hopper had three saves for the Angels.  The Avenging Angels held the corner kick advantage 6-3.

Meredith completes their season on Friday as they host Peace in a Breast Cancer Awareness game.
