Raleigh, N.C. – The Meredith soccer team defeated Peace 9-0 on Friday night in both teams Breast Cancer Awareness game.

The Avenging Angels (13-4, 7-2 USA South) jumped out quick on the Pacers (1-17, 1-8) in the first minute as Carrie Talbert scored and was assisted by Danielle Lee.  Four minutes later Kimberly Williams scored and was assisted by Kaitlyn Murphy.  Talbert and Lee hooked up again at the 15 minute mark.  Kelsey Hukee scored the fourth goal of the game on an assist from Hannah Worley.  Eliza Evans was assited by Jessie Davis on Meredith's fifth goal.  Brittany Raper finished the first half scoring on an assist from Ayla Koc.  Meredith took the 6-0 lead into the half.

Meredith added three more goals in the second half: Courtney Stafford assisted by Koc (60:09), Kristin Braxton (63:59) and Lee assisted by Kelsey Hukee (69:25).

Meredith cemented a second place finish in the USA South with the victory and prepare to host Methodist in a conference quarterfinal on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
