Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith soccer team fell to Christopher Newport 5-1 on Saturday.  

The Captains took the early 1-0 lead within the first two minutes.  Meredith's (4-8-4, 1-4-2 USA South) goal was scored on a corner kick by Jesse Davis that curved around the goal and into the top corner to tie the game up at 1-1.  CNU (6-6-1, 4-1-1) scored five minutes later and held the 2-1 halftime lead.  The Captains put in three second half goals to finish the scoring.

Meredith finishes their home season on Sunday afternoon as they host N.C. Wesleyan in a 3 p.m. game.  The Avenging Angels will honor their seniors in the home finale.
