Box Score Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith soccer team finished a USA South home stand with a 8-1 win over Mary Baldwin. Rachel Didier scored a hat trick as she scored the first three goals for the Avenging Angels. With the win, Meredith snaps a four game winless streak.
Meredith (4-6-3, 1-2-1) scored first as Didier had a goal assisted by Megan Amanatides at the 13 minute mark. The Avenging Angels added to it ten minutes later as Didier scored again on an assist from Jesse Davis. Mary Baldwin closed the gap 15 minutes later as Samantha Thomas scored for the Fighting Squirrels (5-6, 1-5). Meredith held the 2-1 halftime lead.
The second half saw Meredith put the game away with six unanswred goals. Didier took a throw in pass from Amanatides to score at the 55 minute mark. Less than a minute later Davis scored on an assist from Didier. Davis added her second goal at the 75 minute mark that was assisted by Courtney Stafford. Morgan Edwards and Eliza Evans both scored in the 86 minute mark to finish the scoring. Meredith outshot Mary Baldwin 47-2.
Meredith returns to action on Friday as they head to Averett for a 4 p.m. game.
