Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith tennis team hosted Methodist on Wednesday in USA South Conference action with the Monarchs winning 8-1.  It was a rematch of last year's USA South tournament championship final.

The Monarchs took a clean sweep at singles with tough matches from #1 Ashley Pearsall/Mary Lawrence Newton losing 8-2, #2 Betty Edwards/Mollie Musgrave dropping 8-4 and #3 Zannah Webster/Puja Patel falling 8-5.

Patel pulled through the only win for Meredith, knocking off #1 Kaitlin Flaherty in three 4-6, 6-1, 10-3.

Meredith returns to action on Friday as the Avenging Angels host Southern Virginia.
