Tennis Earns Third Straight USA South Team Sportsmanship Award

The USA South Athletic Conference recently announced its 2025-26 Spring Sportsmanship Award winners, with Meredith College Athletics women's tennis earning the conference's Sportsmanship Award for the third consecutive season.

The award is voted on by student-athletes within each respective sport across the conference. At the conclusion of the season, teams vote for the opposing program in their sport that they believe best demonstrated respect, integrity, and overall sportsmanship throughout conference competition. The team receiving the most votes is named that sport's Sportsmanship Award recipient.

The honor is part of a conference-wide initiative established by the USA South Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during the 2005-06 academic year to promote and uphold a positive competitive environment across all member institutions. Sportsmanship Awards are presented in each USA South-sponsored team sport that conducts a full conference schedule.

Meredith's women's tennis program has now earned the distinction in three straight seasons, continuing to reflect the values and culture of the Avenging Angels both in competition and in the way the program represents the college throughout the conference season.

The USA South also presents an overall Sportsmanship Trophy annually to the institution that collects the most individual team sportsmanship awards across the academic year.
