Box Score 2 Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball took a USA South home conference sweep of Shenandoah and Greensboro on Saturday. The Avenging Angels dropped the Hornets 3-1 and swept the Pride 3-0. The win gives Meredith (11-5, 5-3 USA South) a 5-0 home record.
Meredith 3, Shenandoah 1 - The Avenging Angels dropped the first close set 24-26, only to snatch three nail bitters in second (26-24), third (26-24) and fourth (25-22) sets. Meredith was led by Cori Spade with 30 kills and seven digs. Molly Markley had 13 kills and five blocks to give Meredith a defensive presence. Kara Baughman led the Angels with 29 assists and 17 digs. MaryBeth Finegan pulled up 19 digs. Meredith finished with 13 blocks.
Meredith 3, Greensboro 0 - Meredith rolled over the Pride in straight sets 25-16, 25-17, 25-11. Spade had 12 kills, three blocks and nine digs. Markley had 10 kills and three blocks while Whitley Glosson added three more blocks. Baughman once again led in assists with 16 and Finegan led with 11 digs.
Meredith next hosts Peace College on Wednesday in a meeting with the cross town rival. The match begins at 7 p.m.
