Greensboro, N.C. - The Meredith soccer team continued their first weekend of USA South play at Greensboro.  The Pride defeated the Avenging Angels 2-1.

The Pride scored twice in the first half to take the 2-0 halftime lead.  The goals were at the 32rd minute mark by Allison Gibson and one by Erin Cass at the 41st minute mark.

Meredith's Eliza Evans scored at the 58 minute mark to get the lead down to one.  Greensboro was able to clamp down on the Avenging Angels (3-4-3, 1-1 USA South) and take the 2-1 win.

The soccer team next travels to play Lynchburg on Sunday, October 2nd at 2 p.m.
