Tennis Falls 6-3 to Monarchs

Fayetteville, N.C. - The Meredith tennis team traveled to Methodist to continue a USA South match up on Thursday. The Monarchs (15-2, 6-0 USA South) took the match 6-3 after Meredith (11-4, 5-1) gained a split in singles play. The match was continued from the start of singles due to rain on March 21 and play continued on Thursday. The Monarchs held the 3-0 advantage in doubles play after the previous week.

Meredith was able to gain victories in singles play with wins that included #1 Puja Patel winning her match 6-1, 6-1. Wins also included #5 Betty Edwards 6-4, 6-0 and #6 Mollie Musgrave taking the 6-4, 6-4 victory.

The Monarchs took all three of the doubles victories on March 21 as the Avenging Angels lost close matches at #1 and #3.

Meredith returns to action on Friday as they host Southern Virginia for a 3 p.m. non-conference match up.
