Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith tennis team continued their dominance over the Peace Pacers with a 9-0 win on Wednesday. The Avenging Angels (14-4, 7-1 USA South) only lost a total of nine games in doubles and singles combined.
Meredith got off to a quick start with easy victories in doubles. #1 Puja Patel/Caroline Hunt won 8-2, #2 Mary Lawrence Newton/Betty Edwards won 8-0 and #3 Miriam Cooper/Chelsie Packer took the 8-1 victory. In singles, the Avenging Angels took the easy sweep over the outmatched Pacers (2-8, 2-5). #1 Patel, #4 Ashley Pearsall and #5 Musgrave all took 6-0, 6-0 sweeps. Other wins were by #2 Hunt 6-2, #3 Newton 6-2, 6-1 and #6 Meg Crumpton 6-1, 6-0.
Meredith returns to action on Friday as they host Ferrum at 3 p.m. for their season finale and senior day.
