Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith College (5-1-3) Avenging Angel soccer team won their fifth consecutive game Sunday with a 3-0 shutout over USA South foe LaGrange College (5-3, 1-1 USA South).
After a scoreless first half, Meredith wasted no time early in the second frame to take a one point lead. In the 51st minute Anna Smither served a head-high pass down field to Samantha Siomkos, who pocketed the shot into the right corner of the net for her second career goal.

Four minutes later Jessie Davis launched a corner attempt that grazed a defender's hand inside the box. Davis slipped the penalty kick past the goalie into the left corner of the net to extend the Meredith lead to two.
With just over one minute remaining in the game, Ila Torfin drove nearly the full length of the field past the LaGrange defense to score the third and final goal on the day.
