Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - Meredith College hosted the annual Soccer Classic September 6 and 7, and the Avenging Angels reigned victorious as the only team with two wins on the weekend. Five team members earned All-Tournament honors for their contributions to the team's success.
Rookie goalie Jaisa Loch, this week's USA South Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, boasted her first career shutout with five stops in the 1-0 win over Salem. She then helped the Angels to a 4-0 victory over Guilford Sunday.
Danielle Lee tallied three assists, and rookie Cassie Padilla scored a career high two goals in her first weekend on home turf. Megan Luke and Anna Smither served as Loch's support staff throughout the weekend to keep both the Spirits and the Quakers out of the box.
The Piedmont Lions defeated Guilford 4-0 Saturday, and Salem topped the Lions 1-0 Sunday.
