RALEIGH, N.C. - In Sunday afternoon's USA South event, the Meredith College tennis Avenging Angels cruised to a 9-0 victory over the host William Peace Pacers.
Meredith dropped just five points during doubles play to give the Angels a 3-0 lead heading into singles. Caroline Hunt and Cailin Goff moved up to no. 1 doubles to defeat WPU's Kristen Edwards and Abigail Nails. Mack Thompson and Jacqueline Benton won 8-3 at no. 2 and Sarah Du Bose and Mary Katherine Fagan posted an 8-1 victory at no. 3.
Catherine Bryant entered the lineup at no. 1 singles and defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-0 for the win. Nos. 2-6 moved up the lineup with Hunt playing in the second spot, and Fagan filled in as the no. 6.
Meredith is slated to host the Ferrum Panthers Thursday afternoon in a 3 p.m. start.
