Box Score LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Meredith College Avenging Angels pulled out a 2-1 win at Covenant Saturday as Cassie Padilla scored the winning goal with less than one minute remaining in regulation. Senior defender Megan Luke recorded an assist on the play.
Both teams opened the contest trading shots for an early advantage. The Angels outshot Covenant eight-to-four in the first half with Wallace leading the way for the Angels with four. But the Scots struck first as Natalie Smith scored off of a Ruth Terry corner in the 32nd minute.
After the break Jessica Wallace scored on a cross from Kirstie King to tie the match with plenty of time left on the clock. Meredith continued to attack the Scots defense throughout the half as MC tallied seven more shots in the period. With less than a minute remaining, Luke launched a free kick from 30 yards out, and Padilla finished the play to give the Avenging Angels the lead.
Goalie Jaisa Loch tallied one save as she recorded her fourth win on the season.
