RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith College Avenging Angels capped off a perfect weekend Sunday with a 4-0 win over LaGrange. Jessica Wallace struck again for her eighth goal of the season as the Angels defense dismantled the Panther attack.

Led by Megan Luke, Kirstie King, and Kaitlyn Peeples the Meredith defense held LaGrange to one shot in the game. Their defensive effort set the tone as the Angels routinely kept the ball in the attacking third of the field.

MC and LaGrange were entrenched in a midfield battle for most of the first half as Wallace, Samantha Litt, and Olivia DeBellis kept pushing the ball up field creating chances for the Angels. Taylor Poole led the Panthers as they attempted to create chances going into the half that would come up empty.

Meredith opened the second half by scoring quickly with a goal from a Cassie Padilla header off of a Meghan Ingram cross. Wallace would follow with an unassisted goal in the 65th minute as she ran into the box and beat the keeper one on one.

The Angels offensive effort was not finished as they added back-to-back goals off cross passes in the 86th and 87th minute. The first was a goal by freshman Chloe Locklear off of a Litt corner. The second and final point came from fellow freshman Savanah Rollinson with assists from Kathryn McNeill and Celena Greer.

MC's defensive effort allowed the Angels midfielders to push the attack upfield. Meredith outshot the Panthers 26-1 and created 10 corner kick opportunities compared to none for LaGrange.

Jaisa Loch tallied one save as she recorded her sixth win of the season, and Jesse Grogan took the loss in goal for LaGrange as she tallied eight.
