Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Meredith College soccer Angels continued their recent dominance today with a 6-0 win over the Greensboro Pride. The win pushes Meredith to 5-0 in the USA South this season as Meredith McCarty led the offensive effort with a two-goal performance.
MC's offense jumped off to a quick start with McCarty netting her first goal unassisted in the ninth minute by driving past the keeper to the net. She would strike unassisted again ten minutes later. The Angel's leading scorer Jessica Wallace scored her ninth goal of the season in the 30th minute of the match to give Meredith a 3-0 advantage heading into the break.
Megan Luke, Kirstie King, and Kaitlyn Peeples led the defense for the Angels and held the Pride to just two shots on the day. Luke also scored on a free kick just outside the box in the 70th minute.
Freshman Celena Greer added her first goal of the season unassisted in the 75th minute, and Samantha Litt capped off the offensive effort with a goal from a penalty kick in the waning minutes of the match.
The Angels outshot the Pride 13-2 and took eight corner kicks to just one for the Pride. Meredith's defense has been on display as of late as they have shut out opponents in three consecutive games.
Jaisa Loch tallied one save in goal as she claimed her seventh win of the season. Three Pride keepers combined for two saves on the afternoon in a losing effort.
