Box Score FERRUM, Va. -- In Saturday's USA South women's soccer action, Meredith College fell 2-1 to the host Ferrum Panthers. Tied at the half, a late Panther goal sent the Angels home with their third conference loss on the season.
In the 27th minute Jessica Wallace collected a pass from Kayla Boudreau to give the Angels a 1-0 advantage. But the lead would not last long as Ferrum's Payton Stuart drove a shot past Angel goalie Jaisa Loch to even the score at 34:54.
The Angels served up back-to-back attempts during the next 90 seconds but Panther keeper Taylor Dodson deflected both.
Meredith maintained an offensive advantage in both frames outshooting Ferrum 12-7, but Stuart would find the box once more to secure the Panther win with just under 25 minutes remaining in regulation.
Loch recorded two saves in her fifth season loss, and Dodson earned her fourth win with seven stops in goal for the hosts.
The Avenging Angels remain on the road Sunday with a 1 p.m. kickoff at Mary Baldwin University.
