Staunton, Va. -- Meredith College tennis cruised to a 9-0 victory over host Mary Baldwin in USA South action Saturday afternoon. 

The Angels shifted up to place Cailin Goff at the top spot and Laura Anne Hatcher at no. 2. Jacqueline Benton dropped just one game in her two-set win at no. 3, and Kate DeSilva stepped in at four.

Rookie Emily Wilkinson defeated Jochebed Koomson 6-2, 6-1 in the fifth spot, and veteran Sarah Du Bose won her singles match at no. 6 in two sets.

Goff and Benton won their second match with an 8-3 proset victory at the top doubles position, and Hatcher and DeSilva earned their fourth consecutive victory dropping just one point at no. 2. Wilkinson and De Bose paired off for the first time this season for an 8-4 win at no. 3.

The Angels wrapup a conference triple-header weekend beginning with Ferrum at 10 a.m. Sunday. Meredith will close out the day at Averett beginning wi doubles play at 4:30 p.m.
