DANVILLE, Va. -- The Meredith College tennis Angels recorded a pair of road wins Sunday in a USA South action to move up to fourth in conference standings. The Avenging Angels swept the host Ferrum Panthers 9-0 Sunday morning, and downed Averett College 8-1 to complete the sweep.

Only Maryville remains on Meredith's USA South schedule as the Avenging Angels battle for one of six coveted invitations to the conference tournament. The Scots travel to Raleigh next weekend for a Noon start Saturday. Head Coach Meredith Vincent and her team will celebrate the outstanding career of the Angels' no. 1 player Catherine Bryant just prior to the start.
