Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. -- N.C. Wesleyan edged past the Meredith College soccer Angels 1-0 Saturday afternoon in USA South action. Meredith dropped to fifth in the East division standings with the loss, and rival Methodist University heads to campus Sunday afternoon for a rematch from last year's tournament semifinal.
With an attendance of 170 fans at the Meredith Athletic Field, the crowd was very supportive despite the unusually hot fall afternoon. Jessica Wallace and Ellice Johnson led the Angels with two shots each, and Johnson also carried the team with two shots on goal.
For the Bishops, freshman Lauren Seegel scored the only goal with an assist from Stephanie Stallings as the only point on the scoreboard.
Jaisa Loch tallied eight saves in goal for the Angels, increasing her season record to 25. Ashley Major notched four saves in her fourth win for the Battling Bishops.
The Meredith soccer Angels return to action tomorrow at 4 p.m. to face off with the Methodist Monarchs. Follow the action live HERE.
