Soccer Angels Earn 1-0 Road Win Over Ferrum

FERRUM, Va. -- The Meredith College soccer Angels captured their third USA South victory with a 1-0 finish at Ferrum Friday afternoon. Rookie Katie Quinn scored her third career goal to lead the Avenging Angels to the win.

Quinn collected a cross pass from Samantha Litt in the 33rd minute of the match and floated a header past the Panther keeper for the game winner. The assist was Litt's first on the season and eighth of her four-year career.

Meredith led the offensive battle with 16 shots, including seven from Jessica Wallace, and eight corner kicks.

Jaisa Loch recorded eight stops in her complete game in goal for the Angels, and Taylor Dodson posted her fifth loss with seven saves for Ferrum.

Meredith remains on the road this weekend with a 4 p.m. league match at Averett Sunday. Last week's rainout versus N.C. Wesleyan was rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m., and Senior Night is slated for Wednesday.
