MURFREESBORO, N.C. -- The host Division II Chowan University Hawks cruised past Meredith College during Tuesday afternoon's non-conference tennis pairing. The Avenging Angels open conference play after spring break.

Each of Meredith's doubles pairs picked up one game apiece to open today's match. Gillian Emerson joined Jacqueline Benton at the no. 1 spot, and Emily Wilkinson and Logan King slid up to no. 2, as the Angels played just two pairs today.

Wilkinson earned the lone point for Meredith in singles play at no. 3 singles.

The Avenging Angels kick off the USA South campaign at N.C. Wesleyan March 14 before hosting a triple-header the following weekend.
