FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- In Saturday's USA South women's tennis action the host Methodist Monarchs downed Meredith College 9-0.

Courts two and three pulled one game apiece in doubles action beginning with no. 3's Logan King and Alexandra Cheney. Gillian Emerson and Emily Wilkinson held on a the final doubles finishers with an 8-1 loss.

Cheney and Jacqueline Benton earned a point apiece in their respective singles matches. Emerson's battle on court one outlasted the others as she battled in a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Davi Barbour.

Meredith continues in a four-game road series Tuesday afternoon at Ferrum. Doubles play is slated for a 2:30 p.m. start in Virginia.
