RALEIGH, N.C. -- In Saturday's soggy Senior Day Meredith College lacrosse downed the Ferrum Panthers 19-4. Carlee Joseph set a new USA South Conference record with 262 career goals and matched the current record of 346 career total points, and Cameron Ruffin established a new all-time Meredith record with 98 career caused turnovers.

Coaches Lauren Scott, Kate McKinley, and their squad recognized Joseph, Ruffin, and Katie Buckman prior to the first draw, along with the seven Panther seniors. In addition to their many individual accomplishments, the senior lacrosse Angels helped earn three league Regular Season titles, three Conference Tournament Championships with qualifying NCAA tournament appearances.

The Avenging Angels continued their walk through the conference schedule scoring the first 13 goals in today's match. Meredith pelted Ferrum's keeper with 36 shots in the first half, and Brittany Hall valiantly stopped 15 to her credit.

But a tenacious defensive line forced 17 turnovers, led by Ruffin's four, to continue the pressure on the Panthers.

Joseph led the attack with six goals, and Jordyn King and Julie Capretti scored three apiece. Capretti and Olivia Higgs dished out three assists apiece, and Higgs added five ground balls with a pair of caused turnovers. Ruffin and Holly Hite notched four ground balls apiece, and Buckman picked up two in the win. Hite and Joseph battled on both ends of the field with a pair of caused turnovers apiece.

Sianna Burgos-Altman scored two of Ferrum's points with one each from Audrey Ramsey and Chanda Long.

Haley Whitfield earned the win for MC Lax with three saves during the first 30 minutes of play, and Joy Deitrich recorded four stops in the second half. Ferrum's Hall finished the match with 18 stops in goal for the complete match.
