Tennis Opens with 9-0 Loss to DII Bulldogs

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Meredith College tennis team opened the 2019 season on a sunny, 65 degree February afternoon. But the visiting Barton College Bulldogs made quick work of the young Avenging Angels squad.

Natalie Collins and Aly Henneberry picked up one point at the top doubles spot, Collins captured two games in her first set at no. 1 singles versus Daria Avram. Meredith's no. 2 doubles pair in Logan King and Brittney Brown scored four points in their eight-game proset before being retired by Whitney Hamilton and Grace McCartney.

Shaw University is slated to travel across town next Tuesday, Feb. 19, for a 3 p.m. contest, but stay connected to the Avenging Angels for weather updates.
