Bishops Sweep Tennis, 9-0

RALEIGH, N.C. -- In Wednesday's USA South Conference women's tennis match, the East Division leader N.C. Wesleyan swept Meredith College, 9-0.

Aly Henneberry and Brittney Brown moved up to court one to face of with the regionally ranked Fariza Abdulloeva and her partner Milena Amedieva, while Natalie Collins and Logan King shifted to no. 2 to play Giulia Zanetti and Nicole Halabi. Both pairs claimed two games apiece, but court three in Alexandra Cheney and Emily Wilkinson forced their match to an 8-3 loss.

In singles play only Cheney managed to score a point. She lost 6-1, 6-0 to Halabi on court four.

The Avenging Angels are slated to host Salem College Friday afternoon in a 3 p.m. match. Head Coach Meredith Muempfer and her team will celebrate the four-year career of Emily Wilkinson prior to the match.
