Tennis Closes Out Conference Season with 7-2 Win Over Pacers

RALEIGH, N.C. -- With a 7-2 victory over the William Peace Pacers, the Meredith College women's tennis Angels closed out the USA South season as the East Division's fourth seed. The Avenging Angels advance to the Women's Tennis Conference Tournament next weekend in LaGrange, Georgia, as part of the USA South Spring Festival.

Saturday's scheduled matches at Southern Virginia and Mary Baldwin have been cancelled due to a wet forecast.

Meredith's Aly Henneberry and Brittney Brown defeated Sophia Church and MacKenzie Braden 8-1 on court one to open today's pairing. On court two Alexandra Cheney and Sarah Porter downed Lauren Lane and Julia Johnson 8-2 for a 2-1 lead heading into singles.

The Avenging Angels did not drop a game throughout the top-five singles matches to complete the win

After a non-conference match slated for Tuesday, April 23, at home versus Winston-Salem State University, Meredith will head to LaGrange. Stay tuned for tournament details.
