Box Score

RALEIGH, N.C. --The Meredith College soccer team played a double-overtime scoreless draw with Salem College and the MC athletic complex on Saturday afternoon.

With the result, the Avenging Angels are now 4-3-2 on the season with a 2-1-2 mark in conference play. Meanwhile, the Spirts move to 6-7-1 overall behind a 2-2-1 record in league games.

The only close chance during the course of the contest was when Salem actually put a ball in the back of the goal after a corner kick late in the second half, but the goal was called off due to a handball by the Spirits.

In total, the Avenging Angels launched 14 total shots with nine of them on taraget. Salem finished with six shots as three were on frame. A majority of the shots from the home side came from outside of the box.

Salem held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks, while there were just 11 fouls called in the game.

The Avenging Angels are back in action at home on Tuesday, Oct. 12, against Pfeiffer with kickoff scheduled for 6 pm.
