Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Meredith College soccer Angels closed out the season Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 loss to a seasoned Greensboro Pride team. The coaching staff and players celebrated seniors Hannah Omar, Amelie Gillies, and Celvy Kofsky just prior to the first kick.
Morgan Thomas and Gillies launched a combined three attempts at the net for the Avenging Angels, but the defensive end of the field held off the Pride to just one goal in 22 attempts. Miranda Lutz recorded five saves in the loss for MCSC, and Lauren Rodriguez earned her first win for the visitors.
Claire-Emma Britt and Kaelin Sanderford defended the mid-field with Charlotte Ward, Rachel Johnson, and Gillies managing the wings. Lillian Fox and Thomas moved the ball toward the goal for the Angels.
With 13 underclassmen on the roster, Meredith will return to the field next fall ready for action.
