Misenheimer, N.C. - The Meredith soccer team traveled to Pfeiffer University Wednesday night and fell 3-1 on Lefko Field.

Meredith (1-7-2, 0-4-2 USA South) dug itself into an early hole as Pfeiffer (2-9-1, 1-5 USA South) scored in the first minute of play. The Falcons headed into half with a 2-0 advatage.

Freshman Megan Philbin found the back of the net for the first time this year to get Meredith on the board in the 64th minute.

The Avenging Angels earned one more corner then the Falcons while Pfeiffer out shot Meredith 14-8.

Meredith is back in action Saturday at 2 p.m. when they host Greensboro College.
