RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith tennis program hosted North Carolina Wesleyan College Thursday afternoon for their home finale and fell 9-0.
Head coach Eric Douglass was proud of his team's effort regardless of the score.
"I'm very proud of how the girls fought today," Douglass said. "They played hard and brought their best effort against the number one team in the conference. The match score was not indicative of how well they played."
The Battling Bishops began the day sweeping doubles action. Freshman Lexie House and sophomore Anna Bittler earned the only point in the No. 3 doubles slot.
The Angels fell in straight sets throughout singles action but sophomore Ellie Osborne played the tightest match of the day falling 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles.
Meredith is back in action tomorrow when they travel to cross-town rival William Peace to wrap up the 2023 spring season at 3 p.m.
