CLINTON, Miss. (November 16, 2024) - The Meredith College cross country team capped off a competitive season with a strong showing at the NCAA Division III South Region Cross Country Championships, hosted in Clinton, Mississippi. The Avenging Angels secured a 23rd-place finish among the 32 teams represented, behind overall winners Washington and Lee University.
The Angels were led by Sophomore Delaney Bundy, finishing in 128th place, followed closely by Junior Laura Brown in 132nd place. Junior Hailey Bilski(142nd), Freshmen Ashleigh Modlin(148th) and Elisabeth Modlin(150th) rounded out the scoring five for the angels.
Head Coach Field Miller, reflecting on the team's performance and growth throughout the season. "This year has been a testament to the resilience and hard work of our athletes, we knew where we were and needed a great deal of seasoning and development and I am proud of this group as we head in the right direction" said Coach Miller.
Looking ahead, the Avenging Angels are already building momentum for the upcoming track and field season, with several cross country standouts set to compete. For Meredith College, the passion and perseverance demonstrated by this year's team lay a solid foundation for the program's future.
