Bundy Top Individual Finisher at Pfeiffer Cross Country Invitational

PFEIFFER CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

MISENHEIMER, N.C. --
Delaney Bundy claimed an individual win, along with establishing a new program record in the 5k, as the Meredith cross country team finished second overall among the 12 teams participating in the Pfeiffer Cross Country Invitational on Friday evening in Misenheimer, N.C.

Bundy, who posted a time of 18:31.0 in the event, joins Addison Doran as the second Avenging Angel in as many weeks to claim the No. 1 spot among individuals. She highlighted a Meredith (43 points) unit that was second overall and first among NCAA Division III competitors. The top team finish was by Winthrop, which had 32 points.

"I was extremely proud of our group today on an honest course," said head coach Field Miller. "This was our true first test towards running as a pack and competition for team placing against some quality teams representing NCAA DI, DII, and DIII. The group worked together efficiently and the day was capped off with a big performance from Delaney. We are starting to move towards the form we are looking for to have a successful campaign this season."

Also finishing among the Top-10 for the Avenging Angels were Carly O'Toole (9th / 20:21.2) and Juana Silva Jimenez (10th / 20:27.9).

Madison Moyer crossed the line 12th for Meredith, posting a time of 21:07.1, followed closely by teammates Kaia Ramsey (21:22.4) and Abigail Davis (21:26.6), who were 13th and 14th, respectively.

Ashleigh Modlin posted a time of 22:14.6, finishing 18th for the Avenging Angels. Laura Brown put together a solid performance with a time of 23:16.9, placing 28th, while Elisabeth Modlin closed out the race in 23:54.8, breaking the tape in 36th.

The Avenging Angels' Dahlia Romero-Ambrocio was 50th in the event with a time of 25:55.8. Hana Bridges (52nd / 26:58.7), Elizabeth Rojas (53rd / 27:01.6) and McKenzie Caldwell (55th / 27:23.9) were clustered together among finishers.
