HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Meredith tennis program lost 7-2 to the Stevenson Mustangs in their first match of the week at the Spring Break Tennis Fest in Hilton Head, S.C.
It was going to be tough going for the Angels as they were down three players from their starting lineup. Sophomore Anna Bitler and junior
Claire Southern earned the wins for the Angels in singles action.
Coach Douglass had this to say about the match, "despite some tough circumstances, the girls who played fought hard.
Claire Southern and
Anna Bittler won their matches at No. 3 and No. 4 singles. And
Ellie Osborne (No. 1 singles) lost a heartbreaker, 10-12 in the third set tiebreaker. I told the girls to just focus on what they can control and not worry about the circumstances. A good lesson for them to learn for tennis and in life."
The Angels are back in action tomorrow against Agnes Scott College.
