HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Meredith tennis program picked up a 5-4 win over Agnes Scott College Wednesday afternoon at the Shipyard Racquet Club.
Once again the Angels were down three starters giving Agnes Scott two points at the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles slot.
This proved to not be a problem for the Angels as they swept the two doubles matches to start the day. Fifth-year
Hannah Higgins and junior
Claire Southern earned the No. 1 doubles win 8-4 while junior
Ellie Osborne and sophomore
Anna Bittler took No. 2 doubles 8-1.
Osborne, Southern, and Bittler all won their singles matches in straight sets clinching the victory for the Angels.
"The team played well today and got the W," coach Douglass said. "I told the team to enjoy it and celebrate tonight. But to put today's match behind them when they go to bed and be ready to bring it again first thing in the morning."
Meredith is back in action tomorrow morning against Dickinson College at 9 a.m.
