Meredith College Athletics and SAAC are participating in Cans Across The Conference this year, a conference-wide canned food drive fundraiser for local charities of choice. SAAC president, Sierra Grande says, "After finishing on the podium last year, we are hoping to rank high again among the USA South Schools. While we love the competitive spirit Cans Across the Conference fosters, we are truly joyful to give back as well. Our can collection donations will go to a few different community food banks, as well as our own food bank here on campus." They have helped achieve these goals by going door to door in local neighborhoods asking for donations, and creating competition among teams here at Meredith where the team with the most cans will win a prize. 

SAAC has also organized two exciting events to help reach this year's collection goal. The campus-wide pickleball tournament, held on November 6, generated tremendous energy and participation across the community. Students joined the fun by contributing either a $5 entry fee or donating 10 canned goods. Tonight, Tuesday the 18th, SAAC will host its staff kickball tournament at 6 p.m. on the turf field. Participants and spectators are encouraged to bring canned goods—each can equals one raffle ticket for a chance to pie the coach of your choice!

Cans Across the Conference wraps up on Thursday, November 20, so now is the perfect time to donate and support the cause!
