Bundy Blazes to the Top: Meredith’s First USA South XC Champion Makes History

MISENHEIMER, N.C. — The Meredith College Cross Country program reached a historic milestone this past weekend as junior standout Delaney Bundy claimed the individual title at the USA South Conference Cross Country Championship, becoming the first Avenging Angel in program history to win the conference crown. Bundy's dominant performance not only secured her place at the top of the podium but also set a new program record with a blistering time of 22:03.3 over the challenging 6,000-meter course.

Bundy led from wire to wire over second place by 23 seconds. Bundy earned the titles of USA South Runner of the Year, Conference Champion, and First Team All-Conference — a clean sweep of the league's top honors.

Head Coach Field Miller praised Bundy's performance. "Our team had a phenomenal day, Delaney led the way and executed perfectly." said Miller. "I am just so proud of this group and extremely pumped for Delaney, she deserved every moment of this performance. Our focus today was to control what we can control and eliminate the "what if's" creeping in. She did that better than I have ever seen and was able to project that on the rest of the group to have the day that we did. I am just so proud of this group."

Bundy and the Cross Country Avenging Angels head to Salem, VA for the NCAA DIII South Regional Championships hosted by Roanoke College on Saturday November 15th.
