Herring Clutches Conference Honors in Meredith College Debut

RALEIGH, N.C. — Meredith College sophomore thrower Bryanna Herring has been named the USA South Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, following a record-breaking performance at the JBL Invitational that solidified her as one of the conference's rising stars.

Herring delivered a standout performance in the women's weight throw, placing third overall with an impressive mark of 15.24 meters (50' 0"). The throw was not only a personal best—it also established a new Meredith College school record, surpassing previous program marks and signaling a major leap forward in her indoor campaign.

Competing against a deep and talented collegiate field, Herring's top-three finish showcased both her technical growth and competitive drive. Her record-setting mark ranks among the strongest in the USA South this season and positions her as a major contender as the indoor season continues.

With the indoor schedule underway, Herring's milestone performance sets the tone for what promises to be a standout sophomore year. She will look to continue building momentum as the Avenging Angels progress through the winter slate and toward conference championships.
