OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. – The Meredith College golf team competed at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational held March 2–3 at Ocean Ridge Plantation's Lion's Paw Golf Links in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. The Avenging Angels faced a competitive field of 11 teams and 63 golfers over the two-day event.
Meredith was represented by
Jenna Underwood, Rachel Williamson, and
Madelyn Caldwell, who competed as individuals in the tournament. The event featured two rounds played across Lion's Paw and Panther's Run, both par-72 layouts along the North Carolina coast.
Underwood led the Avenging Angels, finishing with a two-round total of 197 after opening the tournament with an 88 in the first round.
East Florida State captured the team title with a two-round score of 603 (+27), followed by Virginia Wesleyan in second at 631 (+55) and Christopher Newport in third at 633 (+57). Individually, Ann Burel of East Florida State earned medalist honors with a 145 (+1) over the two rounds.
Meredith returns to action March 9–10 at the Wildcat Spring Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
